We try our best to be the person others expect us to be, but we often lose track of ourselves in the process. In her book Living in the Light Retah McPherson reminds us that only God knows who we really are. Through 101 devotions she highlights that we first need to connect with God in spirit and in truth before we can truly know ourselves. The devotions are divided into 10 thematic sections. Some of these themes include:
- Knowing God’s Heart
- Taking Up Your Position
- Breaking the Shackles
- Prayer Changes Things
Living in the Light also allows readers to write down a personal prayer at the end of each chapter about their daily journey in God’s light.

In Living in the Light, well-known author and speaker Retah McPherson offers 101 devotions, divided into 10 thematic sections, to strengthen readers’ faith. She highlights that we first need to connect with God in spirit and in truth before we can truly live as children of God. Living in the Light also allows readers to write down prayers at the end of each chapter.

Prayer changes things. Abraham knew it. David knew it. Many men and women in the Bible knew it.  They all had families and all experienced trying times and challenges. But they knew that their strength came from God alone. They all prayerfully brought their problems before God, searched their hearts and opened up to Him.  They turned to Him in every situation to find out what His will for their lives was. Not one of them was perfect, but they were all completely focused on knowing God. God’s promises and His love for His children remain the same yesterday, today and forever.  It is because He loves you so much that He wants to search, heal and take care of your heart. He is ready to listen to your prayers and answer according to His divine will. “Living in the Light” will help you to get to know God’s heart, to search your own, and to understand the hearts of people around you so that you may experience healing together. May the prayers and spiritual insights in this book lead you through the Holy Spirit to healing and victory.
